Free is enough to try Claude out. If you use it for work every day, Pro at $20 is a sensible start: you get Opus 5.5, Claude Code and Research. Max only pays off when you regularly run out of Pro limits, for example when you code in Claude Code all day.
Anthropic does not publish limits as a number of messages. Claude tracks a 5-hour window plus a weekly limit shared by the web, the apps and Claude Code. The most expensive model, Fable 5.1, is not included in Pro or Team Standard limits at all. You pay for it separately with credits.
- Team Standard at $25 per person a month ($20 billed yearly) is enough for most small companies.
- Team Premium at $125 per person is worth it only for people who use Claude heavily, such as developers.
- Enterprise has a $20 seat fee plus actual usage at API prices, with a 20-seat minimum.
Watch out: prices are in USD and exclude tax. If your company sends data through the API, Anthropic stores it in the US and there is no EU region to choose. Claude Mythos 5.1 is not part of any plan. It is limited to verified US organizations.

FAQ
Is Claude free?
Yes, the Free plan costs nothing. You get chat on the web and mobile, web search and the Sonnet and Haiku models. Limits are tighter, though, and there is no Opus, Fable, Claude Code or Research.
What is the difference between Claude Pro and Max?
Pro costs $20 a month. Max costs $100 with 5x the Pro limits or $200 with 20x. Max also includes Fable 5.1 up to half of the weekly limit, priority access at busy times and monthly API credits equal to the plan price.
How much does Claude cost for a business?
Team costs $25 per person a month, or $20 billed yearly, for 2 to 150 people. A Premium seat with 5x the limits costs $125 ($100 billed yearly). Enterprise has a $20 seat fee billed yearly, with a 20-seat minimum, plus usage at API prices. All prices exclude tax.
Is Claude Max worth it?
Not if Pro limits are enough for you. Max pays off when you hit them regularly, for example during long Claude Code sessions, or when you want Fable 5.1 without buying credits. Start with Max 5x at $100 and move to 20x only if that is still not enough.
Does Claude store data in the EU?
Not through the direct API. Anthropic processes data globally or in the US and stores it in the US. Slovakia and Czechia are supported countries, so Claude works normally there. Companies that need data kept in the EU have to check the options with cloud partners such as Amazon Bedrock or Google Cloud.
